Children and Youth

Sunday school classes begin at 9:20 a.m. and conclude at 10:15 a.m. There are classes for children age three through adult. A nursery is provided on Sunday mornings from 9:00 a.m. through the end of the worship service.  Classrooms and the nursery are located in the annex just to the southeast of the church. 

Children’s Journey Schedule

We are looking for volunteers to help with Children's Journey.  Please sign up on the sheet in the annex near the multipurpose room.  Ideas for activities are provided.  Children's Journey is offered every Sunday during the 2nd service for children ages 3 years through 2nd grade.   

Sunday School Age Level Focus:

Three Year Old Class -
Prayer introduction, God created all things, The Bible is a special book, God loves me; I am part of God's family

Preschool/Kindergarten Class - The Golden Rule, The story of Jesus' life, The creation story, Prayer

1st Grade Class - The Lord's Prayer, Prayer - ACTS 1: Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication, Intercession.  Seasons of the Church Year

2nd/3rd Grade Class - Bible Skills: books of the Bible, Parts of the Bible (Old Testament, New Testament, and law, history, four gospels, etc.), 10 Commandments, 12 Disciples, Identify favorite scriptures

4th/5th Grade Class -Review books of the Bible; identify favorite scriptures, hands-on use of the Bible, Mission Outreach focus

Middle School Class - Apostle's Creed, be able to state it, Presbyterian Beliefs, church opportunities, church committees, stewardship, mission outreach

High School Youth - Incorporate Christianity into daily lives, stewardship, church opportunities, and hot topics-discussions
 

Adult Church School

Fall Classes:

The Adult Bible Study - held in the southwest room of the annex (go to the end of the hallway from the north entrance to the annex and it's the last room to the right.)  Owen Duncan will use Presbyterian Bible study curriculum, called The Present Word, which will feature the first book of the Bible, Genesis. 

Stitching with the Master Creator - held in the staff kitchen next to Kelly's office in the annex.  Susan Tinder will bring encouragement for the week ahead as participants bring their handicraft projects to work on.  Enrich your creative spirit and complete some of those projects that have needed attention. 

Parenting Well: Mission Possible, Begins September 23 - held in the lower level of the annex.  Descend the stair steps by the north door in the annex.  Turn left at the bottom of the steps, and the classroom is the first room to the right.  A nursery is available for those with children not old enough to attend church school classes. 

Open House at The Village ~ June 10, 2007

Now Meeting:

Koinonia - The life of following Christ was never meant to be solitary.  Come join a community in which you can encourage one another in good times and bad, ask thoughtful questions, listen to God together, and benefit from one another's insights into Scripture.  (Meets Monday evenings at 7:00 pm.)

Men's Fellowship - A men's night out to think more deeply about life, relationships, and the church.  Study to be determined by the group.  Meets weekly on Tuesday evenings.  Facilitated by Dave Gaulke at 7:00 pm in the southwest room of the new annex.  Begins in October.
